Zoe’s Story

Living on one of the Moreton Bay Islands with a degenerative disease that impacts her ability to walk and perform basic day-to-day tasks, Zoe spends most of her days creating art and playing music.

Zoe got in touch with Disability Plan Services in 2019 because she was unable to physically access the support she needed.

Our NDIS Plan Manager made a special visit via ferry to meet with Zoe and find out more about her situation and needs.

The NDIS funding she was receiving in her plan was not adequate for her living arrangements. Access to appropriate services on the island was limited and we realised that Zoe’s funding would not cover the additional disability support services she required.

The Disability Plan Services team were able to help Zoe by managing her invoices and keeping track of her budget. We were also able to identify additional supports that suited her situation after personally visiting Zoe in her home.

Since then we have helped Zoe to receive additional access to funding for new equipment which has since improved her independence and lessened her reliance on day-to-day support.
