Disability plan reviews – An easy-to-understand guide
It is completely normal for your circumstances to change over time and as a result, your disability supports also need to change. If you’re finding that your current NDIS plan is no longer working for you, it may be beneficial to undergo an early plan review to ensure your goals and needs are being met.
As a registered NDIS provider, Disability Plan Services can not only help you with how to get NDIS funding, but we can also help you prepare for a review and ensure you are making the most of what is available to you.
In this blog, we’ve covered the basics on how to prepare for an early NDIS plan review. If you still can’t find the answers to your questions, do not panic – the team at Disability Plan Services are ready to help whenever you need!
What is a disability plan review?
After your initial NDIS funding application, your first plan will usually be in place for a period of 12 months, after which time you will have a plan review to discuss how things are going and address any questions or concerns you have.
If you have progressed towards your goals faster or slower than originally anticipated, this is your opportunity to reassess and set new goals if need be. This could result in a change to your NDIS funding or available supports.
However it is not uncommon to experience a change prior to your scheduled plan review. Sometimes these changes can lead to you requiring an early plan review. Below are just three of the many reasons why you may need to request an early plan review.
Your plan review can take place either in person or over the phone – whichever works best for you. You are also welcome to bring a support person with you. Having support from someone you know and trust is a great way to ensure you don’t forget to mention anything important. It may also help to have them advocate for you and to make sure you get everything you need from your plan. If you would prefer the support from an experienced Plan Manager, a member from Disability Plan Services can attend your plan review with you.
You can speak to the team at Disability Plan Services or visit the NDIS website for assistance in requesting for an early plan review.
